Great news.....1.46.15 works great with Viz2007.
Thanks for all the help from everyone here.
What are the main differences between 1.47.03 and 1.46.15 ?
Just curious.

Now to solve that pesky maps thing.
Mike
Haven't had a chance to explore the maps business, though. Just installed 2007, 1.47 vray, and made sure DR was working, but haven't opened VIZ other than that yet. My test DR file worked without problems though and it's a vray material with mats. Maybe I just got lucky? Well, if it turns out it's not fixed, I've only got 5 machines to deal with, so no worries! hehe
Kind of annoying, though...

I'm glad you've got VIZ now Vlado. Hopefully a fix is not too far away.
1.46.15 has been a saviour for VIZ users, but as you can see from the link sOreal provided there has been many improvements since then.
Look forward to the solution.
Thanks for the DR tips too.

Cool harperperkins, looks good. I dont understand why it works for
some and not others. It never worked at all for me (1.47.03 that is).
Keep us informed.

What build are you using ? I am using 1.46.x and all is working fine.
You can email chaos for the earlier build. They got me a copy in
2 days. Another example of there stellar customer support.

There must be a way to fix it. Is there any problems with newer non public releases?

a fix is on it's way potentially according to the man himself...
So I think I managed to track this issue down; I still think it is a weird problem in Autodesk VIZ and I'll have to take it with the 3dsmax/VIZ development team, but for now, it looks like bitmaps work fine again in VIZ 2006/2007. For now, you'd still have to use the 1.46.15 build though.

none of the tricks shown in this forum work with '06 or '07,
my IT guys are pissing about me not using the latest Viz.
I requested build 1.45.15 /that is 1.46.15 actually i think/but did not get it yet, hopefully i will get it soon.

After installing the previous build I havent had a single problem. And
actually viz+1.46 has been more stable for me than max+1.47 when using DR.
I almost never have to restart viz or spawner on server machines.
I cancel the renders alot, but still very stable.

Mike
