Thanks for the help.
I got it working. I basicaly started over. I followed the tutorial on VizDepot ....here http://www.vizdepot.com/modules.php?...warticle&id=66
and it works now. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!
Thanks a million harperperkins !
Now to solve that pesky maps thing.
Mike
Glad you got it working, Mike! Which reminds me, I need to update this for the 2007 version...(pesky "network" folder)
Haven't had a chance to explore the maps business, though. Just installed 2007, 1.47 vray, and made sure DR was working, but haven't opened VIZ other than that yet. My test DR file worked without problems though and it's a vray material with mats. Maybe I just got lucky? Well, if it turns out it's not fixed, I've only got 5 machines to deal with, so no worries! hehe
Kind of annoying, though...
ME
((EDIT: oh and this whole backburner 2 vs 3 thing...I never got into it since my dummy MAX and XML files still work fine...))
Cool harperperkins, looks good. I dont understand why it works for
some and not others. It never worked at all for me (1.47.03 that is).
Keep us informed.
What build are you using ? I am using 1.46.x and all is working fine.
You can email chaos for the earlier build. They got me a copy in
2 days. Another example of there stellar customer support.

Well, there are some nice features that are missing from the 1.46.xx version. It would be really nice to know why the bitmaps dont render sometimes. It seems so random (which is never the case for computers).
There must be a way to fix it. Is there any problems with newer non public releases?
a fix is on it's way potentially according to the man himself...
So I think I managed to track this issue down; I still think it is a weird problem in Autodesk VIZ and I'll have to take it with the 3dsmax/VIZ development team, but for now, it looks like bitmaps work fine again in VIZ 2006/2007. For now, you'd still have to use the 1.46.15 build though.
same missing map problem here,
i have Viz2005, 2006, 2007 /Vray1.47.02/ installed on my machine and guess which version am i using!!
yeap, you are right V2005
none of the tricks shown in this forum work with '06 or '07,
my IT guys are pissing about me not using the latest Viz.
I requested build 1.45.15 /that is 1.46.15 actually i think/but did not get it yet, hopefully i will get it soon.
regards
Greg
DON'T LET SCHOOL INTERFERE WITH YOUR EDUCATION / www.ds4arch.com /
After installing the previous build I havent had a single problem. And
actually viz+1.46 has been more stable for me than max+1.47 when using DR.
I almost never have to restart viz or spawner on server machines.
I cancel the renders alot, but still very stable.
