  • vraysun.... at night

have anyone tried using vraysun/sky with the sun position under the horizon (in my case, under the vrayplane) ?

it turns out.... Night ! though i got tons of 'material overbright' warnings and funny artifact around the object scene edges

With the model used by V-Ray, the formulas used to calculate the sun/sky are not valid if the sun is below horizon, so it's best to avoid that - although ideally this should not produce artifacts in the render (I'll have to look at this).

    Best regards,

Will you be bringing in a night-mode for the vray sun? ie vray moon?

i see... thanks for the explanation, Vlado

though i found that placing the sun a bit under the horizon still produce quite nice sunset effect...

and when placed further down under the horizon, the sky turns really dark blue which, well, as i said..... night sky, quite realistic, while still producing dark blue GI to the scene

yeah, maybe vraysun/sky that works at night would be nice... something for the 'wishlist' ?
