    dirty walls not inentional

    http://static.flickr.com/121/268941194_fdfa5a539d_o.jpg

It was the IR. I merged the file contents into a new scene. then I took the color mapping way down to 3 and 6 from 10 and 16. I turned the multiplier of the HDR from 5 to 20.
The whole scene is lit form the HDR. There's no other light outside. There are reflector panles that have images of ountains on them. In vray prop I turnde their recieve GI down to .25 and Generate GI up to 1.5.

Glass windows are invisible to GI

Caustics is on for this one and I'm going to try another without.

Looks pretty cool now, It's always tough getting smooth lighting from an hdri, but when you get the light to play around inside like that I think it is worth it.

A dicky IR map hey.. good that its fixed.

          Looking laot better now.

With caustics you only need refractive GI caustics on (so that the light actually comes thru the window. There isnt much point turning on reflective as well, as neither will really bee seen unless you run the render thru PPT and that take ages.
On the other hand you could use Vray:Caustics but in this image there is absolutely no need.

htat light is mot intentkional. I'm trying to find it's source.

I did a rendering and it took 20 hours for a 2048-1536 which is toooo long. My settings were al high. is there something I can do to save time? Like the GI caustics things???

the hdr lighting base isn helping u in speed terms...
if u want fast results u woud be better off using sun+sky system i guess

Hi Candelero, may i ask what benifit this has over vray's normal skylight in this situation?

in what circumstances does one use a dome light over skylight, is the question i think i am asking.
With the dome you have sampling subdivision controll, where one can crank up if necessary.

                    Best regards,
                    nikki Candelero
