There should be very little different between 32 and 64bit in this scene, as the main advantage of 64bit is larger memory allocation, and seeing as this scene doesnt use a whole slab of memory it wont make a huge difference.
Flipsides info is usefull, but as he is using max8 32bit and max9 64bit I wouldnt say its 100% accurate. You would need to test with 32bit max9 and and 64bit max 9 to be sure of the differences.

Oh, I didn't catch that. I thought that was wierd because I've had rendering time increase slightly when going from 32 bit to 64 bit.
Yeah times will vary abit up and down, due to quite a few things. But the main reason you switch to 64bit is for the memory. Not render speed decrease..... UNLESS of course your running out of memory in 32bit, then it will make things quicker due to having more memory available.
see. this is why i dont like looking in this post often. my dual HT 2.8ghz xeon would be soooooo slow and my dual opteron (single core from back when opterons 1st came out) Boxx wouldnt be much faster.

I know this is a stupid question (not to mention, off topic) and it's probably restricted info, but is there any word on when RC 4 is coming out? The speed boost would be great and I'm SOOOO sick of the slow material editor with xp 64.
