    I did a similar density of foliage (although, it was horizontal) recently using the xfrog shrubs disk's Billboards directory as a nice set of 'fluff', interspersed with *lots* of grasses. main problem in using billboards for you is that everything is pointing towards the sky.. so you'll have to use a custom 'bent' mesh to make things look like they're leaning out/down

    But then, it all depends on how close you get to the building, combined with how likely the viewpoint is to change will decide whether you have to go through the hassle of setting up a semi finished 3d scene for it.

    I only went the above way over doing it in post because we were looking at pretty drastic view changes, and a *very* strong likelihood of animations coming in the future.

      Photoshop it, you'll loose less time

        Some superb advice, still waiting for better reference photos here. Client is in a rush but somehow very very slow..... The usual!
