In SP5 you can also use the samplerinfotex renderelement directly without using an extratex.

        LOL... thanks there old Patty

Acually my little tutorial was outdated in about two weeks, as SP5 has samplerinfotext as a renderelement now.

as for some tips, i've played around with some relighting in nuke with the pointpositionpass,
If your using nuke you should check out the master class:

Distric 9 uses of the P-Pass to help the compositors place cards in world space and some other really cool stuff.

Does anyone have any example of using the Reflection and refraction vector passes in comps? Looks interesting

is this 3D projection-like thing also reconstructable in Fusion? my stomach tells me i need the channel boolean node for this, but my head cant figure out the hole thing.
          especially by turning it 3D!

          any experiences out there?
          best regards

U can use Stmap for reflections, but it's not easy to handle...haven't found any good solution yet, but it should be possible

No idea for Fusion. In nuke we're using a bunch of in-house nodes. There should be something coming soon for the masses tho (not from my end tho and neither from the foundry...so dont beg! :P )
