      Bobby,
Does your hdri have a sun source?
It sounds like there are 2 sun sources that are competing against each other.

Often if there's areas that are lit by incredibly bright light sources, you can get green and red areas in your sample rate. It looks fine in the render but vray will still indicate that it's struggling and using high aa. This is mainly down to the difference in brightness values being sampled with your lights - vray might never resolve to something that it's happy with according to your colour threhold in the aa settings, but if it looks okay in your passes then no harm, no foul.

When I enable this, it bypasses the DMC Sampler, Noise threshold, correct?

          • Yeah indeed. You've got two different thresholds - DMC is for the raw data that your light, gi and materials sample, the AA one is the threshold for the final colour values that come back for each pixel. You can often get bright areas in the sample rate just as the AA sampler is having a hard time dealing with really big ranges of brightness changes - it can look fine in your elements (often it's kind of burnt out) but vray's sampler is still freaking that each new sample it's adding in is making more of a difference than your colour threshold is asking for.

              Hey mate,

Now that I'm officially out of my full time job, my time has been freed up immensely. I do apologise for not releasing more materials but I will make up for it by the end of course.
I'm assuming I'll be able to drop at least another 20-40 materials

As John suggested, this comes down to a massive color difference. Can you try and tick "clamp output- 1" and see if this confirms it. Or you can always send me the scene!

Have you yet compiled any running list of the user requested materials?
Thanks, looking forward to more materials

I'm going back over the thread right now!
I'm preparing the next material release so I'm going to try and get a few user requested materials in!

                  • Hi Grant,

If you need suggestions for materials then we need a rusty Corten steel material for use on large objects at a distance - 2.5 * 5 meter boards. But at the same time could be used for close-ups

I'm kind of hoping it's close enough you can go in and learn from it make the alterations to suit your needs.
You could always blend some maps over the top of the diffuse/glossiness to get the streaks.

That was released over a week ago?? Did you get the email update?

I've had like 5-6 people say they didn't get it. My brother is managing the mailing list now and he says nothing is wrong but honestly it's starting to annoy me now. I'll double check for you.
