You VPN amazon computers to ur server at home and simply type VPN IP of server. Also you need Server windows in order to get more than 1 VPN incoming connections...

You can make it fully automatic with very little knowledge of windows batch system.

    Mine system did this

    Autologin- program on internet
Connect to VPN at home for liecnses and so on - simple bath to start shortcuts on desktop with time delay
Map HHD - simple bat file
    Start Deadline - bat file
Sync project folders from FTP - allsync app
    Ready to render
I never had to log in on amazon EC again. All I did is start as many isntances as I need. Let them sync from FTP and that's it. Ready to render.

I use FTP to sync my files because simply. If my scene has 2gb assets. 20 instances will download 2gb files from FTP faster than from my home HDD that has upload limited to 6mb/s

Sounding quite complex for my limited networking skills but I think I will check it out. Thanks for the info.

Rebus can be annoying due to scene upload obligation even if you change only one single map, or if you have different camera.
If your scene are big, it will take longer to upload than to render.

I need to give one of these render farms a try I think.
          Kind Regards,

True, but in my experience, it was usually pretty quick second(+) time round as all the maps were already uploaded.

What are the 750H free for? 750H of rendering services free of charge? I have some doubt!

Currently, as we speak, I am trying Render Rocket. So far, it uploaded all my assets really fast, and they give you unlimited test renders. My greatest fear is rendering out a still, just to see a mistake that I have to correct, and pay to re-render. If the price is right, this might be my chosen way to render large images. I'll let you know...

I just got my test, and it worked great! It took 17.56 core hours, so I'll have to find out what that'll cost in real money.

I just read that they charge $0.70 per core per hour, so the render would cost me $12

                          Heya

1st ITS NOT RENDER SERVICE. Its computer RENTAL. You rent 1 computer. You set up windows and all. You save the image of that on ec2. You rent extra 10-20 pcs as many as you want and use saved image as window. So you have all settings and so on.

You pick computer with the power cpu/ram and then you rent them.

There is window, linux, red, and more. - attached image...Click image for larger version

750h of ec2 instance is basically a basic 1-2 core 600mb ram computer that you can rent to set up windows program and more for FREE. For 1 year.

I will eventually do a full on tutorial how to set it up and abuse.......

Dariusz, you've just become my new best friend

Can this sort of thing be used for Activeshade ? I saw this for iRay on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hf23...outu.behttp:// (this one is for iRay).

But I'm really keen to start getting this sort of thing into my workflow.

You might also want to look into the Google cloud - it seems to be better in some ways (plus, it supports per-minute billing rather than per-hour).

You can use a cloud for ActiveShade and I've done this a few times, but usually the network speed ruins the experience (at least, from our office in Bulgaria).

                                Best regards,
