I don't remember MAX ever not havin issues. 2016 is probably better the most, however, having things vanish is not okay and should be a deal killer. It is captialism at its best.

I'm currently on 2015 version of 3ds max. Is 2016 up to par to upgrade?

Does anyone know if they got around to fixing the Revit file linking problems that were in 2016?

Meh, gives Autodesk a chance to fix all the bugs in a service pack....

Part of the reason for that is that we don't really get a lot of feedback during the 3ds Max beta phase; it's when the new Max version is released in the wild and we get builds into the hands of more users, that various issues become apparent. On top of that, we also usually do service packs with new features that also need testing, and it adds up...

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Yes, we branched off the code yesterday; with some luck we'll be doing the final builds tonight.

    They do this in Maya.

We didn't get 2017 this year but instead 2016 EXT2 which was a new core essentially and all plugins had to be recompiled. Not sure why they didn't treat it as 2017

As far as I'm aware the license only supports 3 revisions of Max at a time. We will still want to use 2014 so we have to request a separate license or something to allow us to have 2014 working again along side 2017. That's what Eddie Perlberg said when he came in to chat with us. Anyway won't be in a rush to install the new license file as 2014 is the main version for us still.

We can get you a build sooner than that if you need it - just email us to support@chaosgroup.com
