  • Problems with render... URGENT help needed

    Kind of desperate

Well, we've been using v-ray regulary on our projects and it goes smooth when we use values like 1,3 (AA) and Global Illum with settings at High-Animation. Sometimes we go up to 120 at Hsph sub divs.
We always make animations, so we have to go to these values to have "stable" GI sollution...
The problem is that i had not the time to go throught the manuals simply because since we've bought v-ray we are having ALWAYS 3 jobs at the same time... kind of complicated...
So, i'm askin for some help on this. Basically we want to know how to avoid "blotching" in gi sollution using the right settings. If u know any link to existing discussions on the theme plz send.
I've read already some and understood that AA helps on this and using high animation too, but maybe u have more info on this
Maybe some info on QMC sampler and irradiance maps settings?

    read this real quick:
    http://www.vray.info/topics/t0023.asp

also search on the forum for precalc irradiance.. should bring up a few discussions about saving an irradiance map and using the saved irmap for your animation.. its faster, and a lot more stable..

      Hi Romanus !

Do you use "Adaptative Subdivision" for AA ??
If so, you must use "Adaptive QMC" with Max at 10 for exemple.
You may use fixed rate too.

Try to use video filter too in the AA parameters.

For the QMC sampler, you may start with:
      Adaptive amount : 0.85
      Noise Treshold : 0.002

      Bye !

Adaptive QMC? We have version 1.09 installed and i can't find it? Any tip?

About irradiance map solution, i think this only works with stactic objects and with animated camera... am i wrong?
We have lot's of objects animated. The problem is that we are currently in production and even with this insane values we have "blotching" on flat areas. The corners and shadows are ok, but larger "flat and same colored" areas have this noise, blotchy, whatever animated...

Thanks for any help on this again

Sorry its name has changed, it is "Simple two level"
Try to use fine subdivision at 10
Leave "base subdivision" at 1 for the beginning

          Bye
