  • Dongle stopped working?

    Hi,

Yesterday we received our vray dongle's and this morning i reinstalled vray using the hardware lock option, installed everything, inserted the usb key and everything was running fine on 3 machine.

This afternoon one machine was'nt able to obtain a license after working flawless the entire morning. Anyone else having this problem? I can't get it to work anymore, i reinstalled vray plugged the key in another usb slot but still no license. We still have the software license running so production is not in danger here, but i would like to get the key working again.

Well, ill give that a go in a while. We use windows 2003 on our server and it won't let us turn it off locally. I will have to terminate the service from within our server.

But the windows firewall is running on our other machines as well and they have no problems running the wibu keys.

But we will give it a try.

also double check the license settings in vray to make sure they are pointing at the correct ip/computer name and that the port is 30304

The license says it points to localhost, should we change this to the actual ip or computer name or won't that make a difference.

btw thanks for the fast replys

Well that's just it, we don't have a seperate license server. We just received 4 seperate keys so every pc is running the license locally.

Hmm, Just checked out the license running on my machine, it says that no licenses are in use, but i do have max with vray running. So what is the deal here?

It says that there is 1 GUI license in use, which is because you have opened the Render Scene dialog. No render/DR licenses are in use since you are not rendering. Looks like everything is ok.

                            Best regards,

Ok, thanks that clears up one question.

Remaining question is why the other computer suddenly stopped using the hardware license.
