  • VRay environment fog

I am having some issues with environment fog. I am running 1.50.SP3, using bruteforce & lightcache.

When I do a test render at frame 0, it renders fine and takes only a few minutes, if I scrub to any other frame, the building lightcache estimated time shoots up to a ridiculous amount of hours and keeps climbing. I have tried using irr map instead, and it does the same.

I have attached screengrabs of the settings, along with the VRayAtmosphere pass. The fog has a noise map for density, which has an animated offset and phase. If I disable the density map, it renders fine on any frame!

I don't think I am doing anything out of the ordinary - any ideas anyone?!

This issue is fixed for SP4a.

Thanks Vlado, thought that might be the case. We are halfway through rendering a large animation job with a looming deadline, would you expect switching to SP4a to cause any inconsistancy in frames?

That aside, I still have issues downloading SP4a. It only downloads a few MB rather than 35MB. Is there any other way of getting access to it?

      Many thanks
