  • bright white specles ...

I'm using universal method with "don't affect colors adaptation only" ON (saving to exr) and I got this bright specles

When I use burn in lwf and reinhard color mapping I got only two specles

This is the first time I see something like this. Is it possible that it has something to do with only using HDRI as light and nothing more in the scene ?

do you by any chance have any non vray materials in your scene or maybe objects with vraylightmtl on it?
    Kind Regards,

just as a test, change that vrayLIGHTmtl to a normal black vray material (not light material)

it might have to do with the hdr map. you may try to clamp it and see if that helps.

Do have the sub-pixel mapping box checked in your color mapping tab? This will usually get rid of those spots.

]no it's turned off in vray manual says that with universal it should be off... anyway I'll try to turn it on.

If your using the Adaptive DMC Sampler, up the Max Subdivs to something like 24 and Clr thresh to something like 0.002. I had the same problem and I fixed it by doing that. See stage 5 http://www.mintviz.com/blog/vray-int...ring-workflow/

Hmmm..Well it worked for the spot issues that we had on a couple jobs. We found out that when we used a vray sun we would get these spots...Sometimes by turning off visible to reflections on the light it would get rid of them. But i wouldn't use the universal settings. Here is a good blog about how to set things up...
