Are you doing print stuff deflix? You can use the built in vrimg2exr utility to convert, especially if it's only a few renders.

Save separate render channels - this option allows you to save the channels from the VFB into separate files. Use the Browse... button to specify the file. This option is available only when rendering to a memory frame buffer. If rendering is done only to a raw image file, the render channels can be extracted from that file after rendering is complete.
You lost me here - does it means it works the way you want to or no?

Think i will stick with direct output unless I hit a memory limit. Having said that I think it was BB that caused the problems this time.

Yeah all fine thnks, just that you cant 'directly' get separate passes out without using the memory FB.
no probs just mildly annoying ...

Yes you can get them separably.

IF you have 10 render passes and then u use EXR with no render passes added in settings they all should save in separate files, or go to render passes and pick directory where to save 1 by 1. One u set it up they go automatically from that point.

there is a tool that comes with vray called vrimg2exr converter that converts the vrimgs to exrs and spits out the passes, as far as i know you can use pro exr in ae or photoshop to read them in.
