  • 3D Displacement

    What causes this? I need my corners to cleanup, so I need 3D Displacement. I welded all the corners, and in this screen grab, I tried a shell modifier.

    2D Displacement works just fine.

    model in quads and this will never happen. Maybe adding a subdivide modifier will help in the meantime, but you may still get some minor issues

      a subdivide modifier did help. I tried a quadmode, which didn't work, but a subdivmod did. Thanks!

        Quadmode wont work, you have to actually model in quads from the start. Vertices connected, 4 sided polygons, no holes only connected from one corner etc.

              okay, that helped. I laid the walls down flat and used the populate terrain script, which did it.

                I worked the displacement out, thanks to you guys, but I am getting a strange light leak around the corner. Anyway, here it is.

                    it's not shelled and I am not sure if I had retraced thresh on. I typically don't turn it on unless I get light leaks. This, to me, wasn't really a light leak. You can't really see it in these images, unless you zoom in, so I am probably good.

                      yeah looks a bit weird, almost like low subdivision in displacement. Your vegetation also cg?

                        Yes. everything is CG. I have things subdivided pretty good, but I can try to push it some more
