Hi Vlado, Is there a solution already for the nuclear war splotches problem? Because we have this issue from a few days.

i can give you two more examples of completly different scenes giving this problems. We really are looking for solving this problem. It is getting ridiculous. at a point a thought i managed to localise the problem in the monochrome presrvation mode. but then i started happening again...If you need more scenes to examine write to us.

              Helllo guys,

I've got the same problem - previously I worked on Vray 3.00 - everything was ok. Problems start after instaling 3.2. Now on 3.3 sploches start appearing also with my older scenes.

I've tried Vray scene converter but it didn't help.

Anyone got any ideas what could help?

We are sorry to report but this issue is not solved yet but since more and more people encounter it I am going to bump its priority.

We've noticed that all scenes with that issue have one thing in common and this is a plugin that distributes objects like multiscatter, forest pro, railclone etc.
In the new scenes do you use any of those or similar plugins?

The issue is indeed very random, we did a lot of renders on already provided scenes and we managed to reproduce it very rarely.
If you could provide a scene that reproduces the issue more often or always that would be very helpful for us.

The only option for now that completely removes the issue is to not use Irradiance Map. Other workaround exists but they do not resolves the issue on every scene.

                  hi svetlozar,

                  http://forums.chaosgroup.com/showthr...219#post656219

this file i send you is pretty small : 2 materials, a grey defaulvraymtl and a vraymaterial from itrees (multisub with vraysubmaterials) , no scatter at all.
did you look particularly into this one?

there you have the error every 4 to 5 rendering

                  thanks thomes

I haven't look at that particular scene but it looks like Tsvetan and Vlado had look at it and managed to reproduce the issue.
It would be difficult to find the scene into our system without a ticket number since it was sent a half an year ago.

The priority is already raised to high so the only thing I could do is to add the scene you are talking about to the bug-report.

still the same...3-30-05... no warnings (no shellac/normal bump/blend)
first render with illumap/BF second rendering with illumap/LC nearly the same holes. rendered without DR

...and we get it nearly every week with every second project.

It's more likely that it's your primary bounce causing this (maybe because of a non vray material?) than your secondary. Try changing your primary to brute force.

                          Cache nothing. Brute force everything.

                            What about 2SidedMtl?
What is the common between the projects in which the issue occurs?

hello svetlozar, first thanks for looking again into it.

thought that vlado knows the problem?!?

svetlozar, you got a scene from me two times now with one default vray material and one material from itrees. alone the vraymaterial does not make the problem, so it can be only a problem with the 2sided, or the 2sided together with the geometry of the tree itself.
a smaller scene you will maybe never get to solve this problem.

                              greets thomes

I think I fixed those issues for the next build, just need to double-check all the scene examples that I have. There was an issue with the 2-sided material when used with the irradiance map (brute force was fine).

                                Best regards,
                                Vlado
