  • Are there any way to make dragdrop map auto assign a Vray material..

by default, drag a texture map to a model , 3dsmax auto create a standard material for it ,

if only it assigned a v-ray material , that will be cool.

    +1 that would be great
also if it is possible to create vraybitmap if we drag and drop a map into slate editor ( there is a script for this but I prefer an official solution )
sorry if this is considered unrelated to the original wish .

Simply, I love to put pixels together! Sounds easy right : ))

      Hello,

Creating a V-Ray material when drag'n'dropping a texture is already possible if you use the Max.vray setting in Customize - Custom Defaults Switcher.

      Best regards,

        thanks for your reply

Max.vray setting makes V-ray material and V-ray renderer default , but for drag'n'dropping , it still standard material and bitmap assigned....
is it avalible for max 2019 ?

I'm trying it with Max 2022 and there it assigns a VRayMtl. Unfortunately this is a 3ds Max functionality and there is not much we can do on our side.

well, I guess quad-menu converters can help us get all functions what we need.

            Thank you Yavor!
