great plugin!
could you change it so we can have normal resolution in render settings, for correct safe frame (and allowing it to turn off for testing)
that way we dont have to change manually and can look at correct viewport image...
its a really nice addition,
would love to have more steroe support!!!
2010 is the stereo year!
and of course, if you can integrate the option of rendering out one sidebyside (or over under) or rendering left and right seperate would also be great
seeing this in the next vray update would be really really nice!!!!!!!!!!!
(could even integrate stereo 3d viewing methods in the VFBLast edited by phizikl; 16-01-2010, 01:33 PM.

Already done that

even for VFB it would be great, could you give u updated version? we are working on a vray stereo video for a stereoscopic contest due in march this would help our workflow a lot... (although a script http://www.burningpixel.com/Max/StereoG.htm also does this in max, it renders out each version first, then adds them together )
and u already have integrated stereo view ??
can we have your version?
please let me know when you have updated stereo plugin... (btw, what does the focus chek do? )

Vlado, is it possible to render "stacked" stereoscopic through the vrayVFB at this stage?

Yeah, it's really only a minor issue - but 2560x720 vs. 1280x1440? Last one is just a bit more convenient..
Anyway, whichever format - it's really great that you have implemented a stereo mode!
My iz3d monitor arrived today, so i can't wait to try this out.. And with the soon to be released 1.11 driver update from iz3d, there will even be stereo for the max viewport

hey vlado, any news on the stereo update?
i know its not "important" but it would help us out alot
1)rendere stereo only at rendertime (side by side or over under)
2)option to switch left and right
3)stereoviewing support in VFB
(since theres a link to pdlayer, will pdplayer support 3d monitors? it would be great to view the render in 3D with stereoscopic monitors and not just anaglyph, (i also got an iz3d, and for 279 dollars, 22inch 3d monitor is just incredible, excellent 3d quality), but i guess that would take more time than the minor issues listed above)
is it possible to get an update by next week?
btw, what eXactly does focus do?

These are just internal developments for now that will probably go into the next official build of V-Ray, which is some time away still. I can get you an updated version of the stereoscopic helper itself though (for left/right view only and maybe render-time doubling of the resolution).

We also support checkerboard DLPs (http://www.dlp.com/hdtv/dlp-features/3d-hdtv.aspx).

also, how does focus affect convergence, please explain that to us, thanks!
(it would be cool to have a new thread about stereoscopic options requested for the next build

For the convergence, the left and right views will be focused at the focus point for DOF:
(*) If using a VRayPhysicalCamera, this is either the camera target, or the "focus distance" parameter, depending on whether the "specify focus distance" parameter of the camera is on or off (it is OFF by default, so the camera target distance is used);
(*) For a Standard camera, this is either the camera target distance, or the "Focus distance" specified in the Camera settings in the V-Ray in the Render Setup dialog, depending on whether the "Get from camera" parameter there is on or off (it is OFF by default, so the "Focus distance" is used, and not the camera target).
