It occurred to me that I'm not aware of any way to use vector maps in Vray materials (or anywhere else in Max, for that matter). Can this in fact be done and I am missing something very basic, or is there a reason this is not possible?
It seems like this would be immensely powerful since vector graphics don't have resolution restrictions like bitmaps, and they can be potentially very small in file size.
Often times I map a site of a corporate campus for an aerial shot, but then have to make a second set of maps for close up shots since the aerial bitmap falls apart once you get close. It seems like if I based my materials on maps I drew up in illustrator, I'd have the size and flexibility of a procedural map, and yet the customizability of a bitmap...
...any thoughts?
