why not just use a circle with vraylight material set to direct illum, or a vraylight in mesh mode linked to a circle?

Why not just code it into VRAY....It can't be that hard???????
Why use work arounds when you should have the right tools for the job.??
This is one light I would use EVERY project...if it was availble.

+10 votes for this from me

It's been requested many times before, so I would guess it is not a trivial task or Chaos would already have it in place. I would like it too though

I would use it a lot as well.

More than the square light for sure.

How about a spherical VrayLight with a height of 0?

it's not work because reflections will be always a sphere.

+1 to this, could use this right now for some ceiling lights. Would make setting up simple ceiling lights a whole like easier. I could also leave my lights visible to reflections since they'd match somewhat the shape of the fixture.

+1. Just had an instance where I was wishing there was a default 'disc' shaped light.
