    Like the title says

    or an option in EgdesTex to work only on borders, instead of edges

      no, because I can't plug that into, displacement, or opacity, or reflect

      Also it doesnt shade the line nicely, it gives solid colour for the line

        Vraytoon can certainly do that. But depending on your workflow it could be much easier to do it with a VrayEdgesTex.
        For eg. I often output an extra vrayedgestex in case I need it later in comp. So it has to be black and white : black edges on white background. Doing that in vraytoon usually means making a copy of the scene to alter the lighting or materials or both. While with a vrayedgestex it's just a matter of adding the element. You can't do that with vraytoon : it doesn't even output a separate pass as it is an environment effect.

        So yes, a checkbox in the edgestex map would be nice. No new map please ! We already have a bunch with max and vray

          BTW, is there a reason why "Pixels" doesn't work for line thickness when VRayEdgesTex is used as bump? Does it use local object space for mapping?

            VrayEdgeTex thickness is controlled only by World Units if it is used in Bump slot - we have that written into our documentation:
