GiorgioAK This log points to the inability of the V-Ray for Blender addon to properly launch its rendering process from the file located here: c:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\4.2\scripts\addons\vray_blender \bin\VRayZmqServer\VRayZmqServer.exe (where XXX is your Windows user name). This may be, among other possible reasons, due to security settings (unlikely, as this is your user folder) or some missing system component. I'd suggest you start by checking for any logs in Windows' event viewer app which can be opened by typing 'Event Viewer' in windows start menu. Navigate the tree to Windows Logs -> Application and look for errors with Source equal to 'Application Error' and description mentioning VRayZmqServer.exe, as shown on the picture below.

Could you check:
- the error that's printed in the console (from Blender's main menus go to Window > Toggle System Console). There should be an error printed, similar to what was reported here. Error 1005 being the common hint that something undefined is triggered by our oversight to pack the latest Chaos components.
- the version of the Chaos Unified Login installed on your end, you can check the version from Windows's Add/Remove Programs (see this for reference).
If you're getting 1005 and the Unified login is version 2023.xx, please re-download V-Ray for Blender, we've updated the build to include the latest Unified login. Install it, then log out and log back in and it should solve the issue, the steps are outlined here.
If you've already done that and you still have issues, do let us know and we'll dig deeper into this.
To test, I used the bus sample scene. I liked what I saw initially but this is my first experience of using VRay so I have a long way to go now! I have used Corona in Cinema 4D for a few years and absolutely love that renderer and it is my aim to use Blender with Octane and VRay instead.

Not sure why but yesterday it worked, today it gives me the sign in option again. That's at the start with the black popup but also if I go into V-Ray > Account. Clicking the button does nothing.

I'm logged into Chaos Cosmos / Site / Forum and if I go to localhost:30404 it shows there's a license availlable. Seems there's still something off.V-Ray 6 Beta | Intel i9 9900K | 64GB | 1x 512GB EVO 970 Pro SSD | 1x 1TB Kingston Nvme | 1x 4TB Lexar Nvme | 2x 6TB SATA | 1x 4TB SATA | 1x RTX 4090 24GB + 1x RTX 3090 24GB

OzBoz Could you nevertheless make sure that you are connecting to the licensing server installed on the machine where Blender is running? Run 'Change License Settings' from Windows Start Menu. The first 'License Server' box should say '127.0.0.1' or 'localhost'.Iavor Vajarov

Blender works again as well as Envision. I don't really understand why the unified login service wasn't running but maybe my feedback is a bit useful if others have the same issue. It would at least be nice if Blender did the same check as Envision so you know it's not working because the Unified Login service isn't running.V-Ray 6 Beta | Intel i9 9900K | 64GB | 1x 512GB EVO 970 Pro SSD | 1x 1TB Kingston Nvme | 1x 4TB Lexar Nvme | 2x 6TB SATA | 1x 4TB SATA | 1x RTX 4090 24GB + 1x RTX 3090 24GB
