Tested with
Windows 10
Nightly Builds from Jan 27th and Feb 7th
Houdini 18.5.563 & Houdini 19.0.455
I'm not sure if this is expected behavior or a bug. My understanding has been if a user attribute is called in a material then we didn't have to force the attribute under shading in the object properties.
Does this apply to user string attributes too?
Right now I have a user string attribute called texturePath on the my geo that points to a path on disk to my texture. In the shader I call the string attribute <texturePath>

The texture will not render unless I force it.

Just wondering if this is a bug or intended behavior.
Thanks,
David
