  • 2.0beta - test env override on vrayblend

Tested the env override in connection with the VrayBlend.
Doesn't work - will that be fixed with 2.0 ?

    thx for all your efforts,

I seems to work fine for me - I am able to successfully override the environment for individual sub-materials of the VRayBlendMtl material.

Although it doesn't seem to be working in V-Ray RT... looking into it now. Works fine for the regular renderer though.

hmm.. just double checked and for some reason it is not working:

as you can see, I created 3 spheres....

        1. vraystd blue
        2. vraystd with env override
        3. vrayblend with 1 + 2

I took a simple checker as mask.

As you can see, the black parts on sphere 3 should be the chrome from sphere 2.
The test image above shows not the RT engine - just the 2.0beta Standalone.

To get reflection in the third sphere you should set V-Ray Extra Attribute with Env. override option to the VRayBleandMtl as well.
Right now the environment override affects only the "chrome" material.

yeah, but if I do so, I overwrite the env from the 1st sphere as well - and this is what I do NOT want !
so how to do this ?

Same as I told you - I added the override attributes to the chrome material, not to its shading group.

                        Best regards,
                        Vlado

hmm.. am I on the latest beta version ? I can't get the vray enviornment override attributes for the material itself ! Maybe I missed something very important on my side... but I only can access the env_override attribute inside the SG.... would be great to know how you plug the env_override into the material !

Which beta are you using? Also, which OS?
