  • matte object to block direct lighting (avoid double shadowing)

    Hi,
In a situation to integrate CG character into a plate, live action elements are reconstructed with reprojected plate and set as matte objects.

Is there a way/setup to have matte objects to block direct lighting as if they are opaque objects, hence avoiding double shadowing for CG characters that are positioned on a matte object as well as in the shadows of another matte object?

    Thanks.

    Is this thread duplicate of:
    http://forums.chaosgroup.com/showthr...838#post681838

If not can you show us some scenes so we could better understand the issue?

        Thanks for the update.
We'll leave the thread live since could act as a redirect link to the other thread where the issue is discussed and resolved.

It is a good idea open only one thread on particular subject - we usually monitor the whole forum very carefully and it is almost sure that you'll get a reply from a member of ChaosGroup without opening multiple threads on the same topic.

Sure thing Svetlozar. This thread was created almost two weeks ago. I thought the reason that I didn't hear anything back is because I didn't specify clear enough. So I created another thread with example scene and renders with markups to describe more precisely.
