Can anyone recommend the best anti-aliasing filter (or settings) for rendering products with type/text on them? I used to use 3DS Max and my labels were always nice and crisp and clear. I've tried every filter setting in Vray for Maya but can't get the same clear renders out of Vray/Maya. My texture maps are 600 dpi at 4000x4000 pixels so that should not be the reason. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Maya's default quadratic file filter is too blurry , I usually set it to off , have you tried that?

Ditto, turn off filtering for text. But whether your texture resolution is sufficient depends entirely on your output resolution and the texture's proximity to the render camera. The software can't create pixels in the texture map for you, so if you get super close to even a 4K texture at a massive resolution (e.g. 16K for something like a print ad), you may still encounter blurriness. Also, FYI, DPI is meaningless in CG, that's a print output spec.

You can get sharp filtering with Lanczos. Do not filter textures in this case.Dmitry Vinnik
