  • Best advice for rendering through walls?

Usually I can hide or extend the wall although since there is a mirror against the back wall, i would like to retain the wall in the reflection.

    I have tried,
-Messing with the Near Clip Plane = Renders Black
-Unticking Double-Sided in Maya's Render Stats whilst also deleting the back-faces = Renders Black
-Unticking Double-Sided in the VRay Material Options whilst also deleting the back-faces = Renders the wall with a translucent effect.

I have attached an image of my scenario,

    Any help is appreciated,

    Regards

Go into the object properties and untick "visible to camera."

Edit: oh its Maya. My suggestion was for Max, sorry.

The principle is the same in Maya. Create an object properties set, then disable "visible to camera"

Thanks for that. Whilst I was trying to find the visible to camera option, I found that disabling Primary Visibility in Render Stats was the solution I was after. I must have missed that function in the beginning.

But near clipping plane should work also. I'm using it very often.
