  • Problem with Baking Textures for Multiple Objects

    Hi,

Looks like that the latest V-Ray 5 for Maya has an issue with baking textures for multiple objects.
V-Ray just bakes a texture for the first objects properly. There are just black textures for the others.

BTW, there is no problem with V-Ray Next for Maya.

    Thank you.

    Best Regards,

Thanks for the report. The issue is reproducible and I've logged it (internal bug-tracker id: VMAYA-10545) for developer analysis.

any news on that ? I'm experiencing the same issue. Also, I cannot use DR for texture baking, is that a normal/know issue ?... so basically, I have to bake object by object without any DR possible by hand... that is really not handy. (Maya 2019.3 and V5.10.20)

To explain a little more about my DR issues: When I try to use DR for texture baking, if I use progressive the render starts but it doesn't seem to use the slave. If I use bucket, the slave renders black buckets. I tried with BF+LC and only BF.

The same issue was reported by our customer.
          Has this issue been fixed?

Just tested this and it seems to be working fine. Does regular rendering work for you?

Otherwise, the issue is not yet fixed. However, I've already notified the project manager to increase its priority.

Yes, regular rendering with or without DR is working fine.

I'm trialing Vray5 and I'm seeing this as well.
                Doesn't happen with Vray next.

Note that, currently, only baking from the Render Settings is supported. There was a discussion here about the matter. We have started to scrutinize how to implement DR baking through the V-Ray options, however, it is part of a major change, hence the slower development. Try rendering through the Render settings (Common>Baking Engine Settings>Texture baking) as a workaround.

The issue is the same as the original poster. I'll add your report to the log as well.

Ok, thanks, now I can at least use DR (I missed that discussion). But I still need to render object by object.
