  • VRayUVWRandomizer Bug

Hi, we encountered an issue with the UVWRandomizer node in vray 6.2.
With the randomization mode set to 'By Node Name' it produces different results, when removing objects from the scene, even though the node names don't change. It seems to be linked to the order of creation, so removing any object will affect all other objects that have been created later.
It doesn't matter if the objects actually use the UVWRandomizer in their shading network or not.

I also realized that changing objects in a vrayLightMesh node will change the randomization for ALL objects using a UVWRandomizer (with mode set to 'By Node Name') in the scene.

    We are using Maya 2022.5

deleting the first sphere changes the randomization of the ramp texture for the remaining two spheres

Does not happen on my end with the same setup. Mind if you attach yours? Otherwise, the point of the "By Node Name" is precisely to avoid IDs. Removing/Adding objects should not affect the randomization of the rest.

Reproduced and logged (internal bug-tracker id: VMAYA-12861).

Hey Aleksandar, here is my test setup. Deleting sphere1 will change randomization on the other two. If i undo deleting it, the randomization doesn't change back to the initial state.

Thanks. It seems it depends on which object you delete (I must have deleted only the last one created). Logged (internal bug-tracker ID: VMAYA-12872).
