I've been testing Yeti too and it's actually quite simple and nice to use. I struggled a lot more to get Shave to render nice results.
There are a few youtube videos that show you how to fur and groom a character, and the documentation isn't too bad really. Obviously it's a new software so it doesn't have many tutorials etc. yet. I still found it quick to get into. Learned how to get it up and running within a couple of hours.

    Super quick test:

Took about 3-4 minutes on an i7-3930k with GI BF+LC and VrayHairMtl3.

I have Yeti installed in Maya & it works But I cannot for the life of me get it to render in Vray!
I have done as the yeti installation guides say in regards to environmental Variables & all the plugins load up OK in maya. but it wont render.
does anyone who has this working have a checklist of what to do to make it render?
      Thanks
      Chris

Do you get any warnings or errors when you render?

The custom plugins should work, there is no limitation, but I'm not quite sure if it's not something else in the demo.

                Hi,

I've tried to test Yeti with the V-Ray Demo. Unfortunately it didn't work for me as well.
BTW, Yeti is working very well with V-Ray ADV.
                I hope it helps you.

                Best Regards,

Probably something in V-Ray... the demo might be specifically coded to load only the standard V-Ray plugins - I have to check. In any case, we can get you a full evaluation license if you need it.

                        Hello!
I'm thinking about migrating from max to maya and I want to test vray with yeti but with my demo vray installed I canĀ“t see the hair in the render.
I have maya 2017, yeti 2.5 and vray 3.5 demo

Is the problem with yeti and vray demo stil there or could be a installation problem? (I think I did all the evironment variables stuff well...)

                            Yes it is!

I've attached captures of my maya settings and environment variables.

So the vray demo should render fine yeti hairs?

Unfortunately, the demo version of V-Ray doesn't support Yeti. I'll make a note to discuss adding this ability to the demo.

Ok, that make sense but I really looking in migrating from max to maya but I need to test yeti first. Is there any possibility to have a copy of vray for maya 2017 that supports yeti just for testing?
                                Thanks
