Hi All,
innoBright is rolling out a detailed FAQ next week with our Altus 1.0 launch release. Here are some quick answers to some of the questions posted:
1) How does the denoiser perform with animations with respect to flickering and other artifacts?
A: We are going to upload some animation sequence test results soon in this forum as well as our revamped website next week, similar to the frame results that Vlado posted. The results are quite impressive.
2) When will the product be available and what kind of pricing is expected?
A: Availability will be next week (Monday Oct 26), pricing will be posted on innobright.com
3) Will the denoiser be a separate post-processing tool or integrated into V-Ray?
A: Initial rollout with rev 1.0 next week will be a separate post-processing plugin.
4) How does Altus compare to other denoising solutions like Avisynth or MC_Spuds for denoising and does Altus support motion compensation?
A: Altus supports motion compensation and for the quality of output Altus provide, it is significantly faster and higher quality than MC_spuds or Avisynth. Our monte carlo denoising algorithm is simply the best performing in the world, from all the tests we have done. We believe we can perform better than Renderman 20 denoiser (3x to 12x improvement in speed for a given quality). Plus Altus is a generic denoising engine that can work with any monte carlo denoiser and supports openCL, which makes us CPU/GPU agnostic. We encourage any/all users to download the free, watermarked version of Altus software and evaluate it.
5) Will there be a 3DS Max version of the Maya plugin?
A: Yes, there will be - we are working on it.
As far as I can see - we already can download installers, however - it feels like they don't like my system and also maya version installers crashes. Maybe an unpacked version ?
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

If you have an Nvidia graphics card you will need up to date drivers and the 6.5 cuda toolkit and sdk or above. We have not tested on anything below the kepler generation of cards. The supported card architecture right now is cuda 5.0 and above. So this would knock out fermi generation and below.

The installers that we have on our site currently are from the beta cycle, we will be updating them very soon with our newest version.
So if I get this right, as a first release you would have a standalone software that would denoise (or is it part if a post processing soft? AFX?, nuke?) and in a second stage, build in right away in max/vray?
I would be very thankful if you could let us know on this thread when you have updated the builds on you site as well.
this is a seperate company from Chaos... they have their own product. i believe any suggestion of having it included in vray is something that has barely, or not even been discussed yet. you wont see it included in vray for a good while, if ever.. i imagine negotiations would not likely be carried out in this thread

I think you haven't check the download section of their website yet

-well i see it has been updated to include a beta version *for* vray, (which is great, and im waiting with baited breath for a max version) but this is not the same thing as it being included *in* vray.
