    So, this can be confusing.

Otherwise they seem to be working fine for me on Windows 7.
Can you try activating the shortcuts as an administrator ?

    Greetings,
    Vladimir Nedev
Yes, if I right click and run the shortcuts as admin they work.

Just to be sure, if I have render nodes on a max license, they are the same right? I can use them to render modo too, so I dont need to buy additional render nodes?
How does this work, max is dongle and modo online license.

Is it possible you missed one of them ? They look very similar and can be easily confused to be the same thing.

The e-mail for beta testers ends with:
"""As a special thank you for testing out V-Ray for MODO, get an extra render node with purchase of a full seat of V-Ray for MODO. This offer is available until the end of the year and only to beta testers of V-Ray for MODO."""

          Greetings,
          Vladimir Nedev
I didn't receive either email and made sure to check my spam folder just in case. I sent a letter to support so hopefully they are able to figure it out.

That is correct; they are the same render licenses and you don't need to buy additional render nodes.

The V-Ray online license server can also read your dongle and it will add all licenses together. Just make sure you don't run both license servers at the same time.

            Best regards,
            Vlado

I only received the one email...what was the second?
I did get the one about the render node for beta testers.
The second one is to all e-mails registered on chaosgroup.com . It's the same thing as the one you got, only the free render node part is missing.

I didn't receive either email and made sure to check my spam folder just in case. I sent a letter to support so hopefully they are able to figure it out.
I don't think receiving the e-mail is important for getting the free render node. If you don't get it after buying V-Ray for MODO, you can contact sales@chaosgroup.com and they will figure it out.

Just to be sure, if I have render nodes on a max license, they are the same right?
Just to clarify further, you need "Universal V-Ray 3.0 Render Nodes" licenses.
If you have 1.5 or 2.0 licenses, those need to be upgraded.

I have finally installed the first stable release...well it's not a surprise since I download regularly the nightlies but it closes nicely 2 years of beta.

Congratulations to everybody involved in this new version of V-Ray, it's quite a good version, almost nothing to envy to the 3ds Max plugin.

And a particular thanks to you Mr.Nedev, who has listened carefully the beta testers, and your efficiency to meet our requests. I must admit that it's one of the things that convinced me to adopt V-Ray. I hope it continues this way

Congratulations. Does Modo provide out of the box functionality like Railclone (the new procedural modeling tools?) and forrestpack (reclicators?)?

Thank you I hope MODO and V-Ray for MODO will grow together.

These seem to be the equivalent features in MODO, yes. Not sure they are as user friendly and powerful as Railclone and Forrestpack though, I watched a few marketing videos that looked quite impressive.
Maybe something similar to Railclone will be built on top of the new procedural tools in the future.

                      Hi
Is Fur Material Geometry(Render Cache) Hair Primitive of VRay? or Mesh?

Are Alembic Hair and Fur Material Geometry(Render Cache) the same processing speed?

The geometry generated by MODO's Fur Material can be either triangles or hair curves.
It depends on options in the Fur Material. You can use these options to make feathers. See image :

The Render Cache will add to your export time from MODO to V-Ray. MODO needs to generate the render time hairs after all.
In terms of rendering speed, the Alembic hair might be slightly slower, but I am not sure if that's actually the case or not.

A note from sales, as many people seem to be asking them this question:

All V-Ray for MODO beta testers are eligible for an extra render node with the purchase of a full seat of V-Ray for MODO, even if they did not receive an e-mail . This offer is available until the end of the year.
For more information contact us at sales@chaosgroup.com.

                              Thank you. Understanding.
When combining HairCurve and VRayHairMtl, may I think that the latest VRay Hair optimization is applied?

Can VRayMODO do dynamic tessellation applying of Fur/Hair? (Like VRayOrnatrixMod)

In V-Ray for MODO, you need to manually enable Embree for hair, as we had some troubles when rendering very short render curves, which are caused by the exporter using too many vertices by default ( 300 ).
For Fur material (which defaults to 8 vertices per hair), this shouldn't be a problem, so you can enable Embree for hair.
See image how to do that:

It can do it for "render curves" (i.e. curves stored in a mesh), but not for hair from MODO's Fur Material. It should be easy to fix this, I will make a note and let you know when it is.

Also the Min pixel width option from V-Ray for Maya is missing. I will make a note to add that too. It should be easy as well.
