Hi - Is it possible to make a rendered walkthrough with vray for revit ?

    Hi M4Arkitekt ,

We don't have access to Revit's native walkthrough API, that's why we haven't provided support for it yet.
We've been working to provide alternatives. One of them will be available with the launch of Update 2 which is coming very soon.

        Hi philip kelly ,

API stays for “application programming interface”. It is what software developers use to interact with an existing piece of software. You can read about it in this useful article or on the Autodesk official page.

To integrate with Revit as a built-in Revit plugin, V-Ray uses the native Revit API. In it, various major Revit functionalities are exposed, i.e. they can be accessed by plugins such as V-Ray. Some functionalities, however, such as the Walkthrough, are not exposed. That's why we can't just access and render it.

                Hi M4Arkitekt,

Currently that type of effect is not possible with Chaos Vantage. Animated fire requires the use of an Emissive with a fire image sequence plugged into the Color and an opacity image sequence of the fire plugged into the Transparency. Vantage currently doesn't support transparency of the Emissive material. However, If you are interested in rendering an animated TV screen or water you could check out he following forum threads:They are for different host apps(Rhino and SketchUp) but the workflow is similar for Revit - you need an animated image sequence and somekind of animation e.g. sun animation/solar study to be able to export an animated .vrscene which you would later be able to open in Vantage and render out the animated image sequence.

                Best regards,
                Alexander
