  • ***PLEASE POST ALL BETA 11 PROBLEMS HERE****

    Hallo,

I have a problem: in release 10 I have started a project of visualisation with different metal materials. I have used a texture map for the reflection color, but now there is no map option for the reflection color. Please help.

Wouter has asked it some post befor but I can not find an answer - what is the function of the filter map?

    Regards Micha

The filter map is actually the same as where the map button previously was., it just has a different posiiton in the UI. The reason there is no map next to "Reflection" anymore is because that map space is used for when a fresnel reflection is used. Eventually, when our procedural texture UI is setup and implemented, there will be a map button there and the fresnel reflection stuff will be pulled out of the UI where it currently is.

I hope this answers your question, please let me know if any part of this is unclear.

This method allow me to get high res views outside the window and I can shift the horicont line of the outside view.

But a first aid for me is, I use a standard textured diffuse plane with an arealight in front.
Ok, we'll have that straightened out for the next release. Sorry for the inconveniance

Joe thank you for the answers.

Small suggestion: since highlight and reflection use independent glossiness options a independent color (intensity) control could be useful too. Also I suppose so, a highlight of 0 could speed up the rendering.
In renderman speculars and reflection are independent and a rendering without speculars is faster.

... in the past I have import rhino objects to rhino per RMB click in the windows explorer and drag it to rhino. Than Rhino has open a dialog and ask me - import ... or open. But since a few days, if I try to import objects at this way, Rhino start to use the CPU very much and dosn't do anything more. I ask me, is it a Vray for Rhino problem?

I've tried this out with a few models and had no problem. Is it a particular scene that you have trouble importing to? Or perhaps a scene that you have trouble importing into other scenes? Or is this just a general thing you've noticed?

If so, email them to info@asgvis.com please. Thanks

Hmmm, today I can not reproduce the drag&drop import problem and the bump bug too. I will keep my eyes open.

My best guess for the import issue would be its just a large mesh you were importing. I think it meshes stuff when you import doesn't it?

I have tested it again now and it works. The problem in the past was, that Rhino was hanging befor the import dialog was open (open/insert/import/attach). We will see.

Yesterday I have tested the layer material with two diffuse layers and a transparency map at the first layer, but have not got an effect. Does it realy work now?

I have problems with the "unhide" command. Often I use the inverthide - I select an object and all other objects will be hidden. Later I unhide anything, but the rendered scene is not updated.

I am having some problems with hiding and un-hiding too. Sometimes I will simply hide an object but it still renders.

                          • beta build 11 surface edges...

Has anyone else been experienceing this problem? When we switched to beta_build 11, a lot of our polysurfaces and edges began rendering with dark and light spots around the corner and edges.

This wasnt happening with 10, and it's the same model. remaking the surface gets rid of it sometimes, but not always. It may be messy modeling, but the model is pretty clean and i dont understand why it hadn't shown up before.

does anyone have any suggestions or advice on how to fix it?
