Rhino SR5? Is that out? Did I miss something?

Honestly, it wouldn't be the first time.

Rhino isn't telling me there is a Service Release. Hm...

It is a SR5 RC. You find it here:

        Thanks Micha.
I wonder why Rhino says I have the most up-to-date service release. Even when I click on "Check for Updates" in Rhino Help.

Maybe, the reason is: it is a Release Candidate only.

            Thanks Micha!
Which file is SR5 in your link?

Ok, yeah Micha had reported the same thing. Does it happen to the same file every time or does it appear to be random? If its the same file, is there any way you could send that to me?
Now it seems to work here with my crash test file. Maybe the SR5 has helped.

You should look at the date of the file. There are only a few files from 2006 and than you must look for your language, for example "en" for english.

To see what faces need to be flipped type AdvancedDisplay at the Rhino command line. Then enable Color backfaces and select a color that will standout. Apply the settings and then go back to your viewport and choose the shaded display type Ctrl+Alt+S.

This will resolve these bad edges for you. Something like this has come up in a previous build. I will talk with Joe and Vlado about this.

                Best regards,

                Corey
It's a serious problem here. Sometimes I use single surfaces, for example for eaves gutters, and flip the normals dosn't realy help. The eaves gutter is visible from both sides. I could model solids, but I think this not good solution for ever.

                Good luck.

I'm waiting for Rhino SR5 RC to become SR5- I'm already testing enough beta's! Hopefully that will help.

I agree with the double-sided issue. I often use a single surface that is visible from both sides, so I need that to work.

                    Folks,

The double sided issue is being looked into by Vlado. For now it seems that if you stay away from using Irradiance Map you should be fine.

                    Best regards,

                    Corey

I don't seem to be able to save the results of my finished render! No matter what format I select nothing shows up in the targeted folder! Help!

I am having some problems with hiding and un-hiding too. Sometimes I will simply hide an object but it still renders.
Hello Guys! I'm a little late to the forum (as usual). I have the hide/un-hide problem as well.

                        1) Select and hide geometry.
                        2) Render
                        3) Unhide geometry and Render. Renders as if the geometry is still hidden.
                        4) Save model and render, geometry that didn't render, now renders.

NOTE: I'm not finished reading the bug list. If this has been fixed and/or already addressed, my apologies. I just wanted to confirm the bug.

Bill, best you read the other Bug lists to, because old bugs are not listed in the beta 11 list.

My workflow against the hide problem: create a small object and delete it again. So, the Rhino scene will internal updated and the hide/unhide works. I create a small plane.

Some times I try to disable a complex vray material for a quick test rendering. I change a the rhino material properties from plugin to basic, but the rendering show me the vray material again.
