This arealight send to much light to the walls of the box (I tested the option "ignore light normals" on/off). The size of the light is approx. the size of the bright area at the ceiling.

I'm playing around with Vray for Rhino 4 and started off with the tutorial, Quick Start for Rhino.
I didn't think we even had that tutorial still posted. Well, as Micha said that was done with Rhino 3 and with none of the new defaults in the Rhino4 beta. I'm not sure if you have rhino 3 or vfr3, but if your going to be going through and doing some of the tutorials on the site, it may be a good idea to try doing them with v3. Not that they can't be done with v4, its just that there are a few things here and there that have been changed (like the defaults for example), so it might just be simpler to do them in v3 then take what you've learned to v4.

Thanks for the clarification Micha, Dalomar. I played around with Vray for Rhino 3 during the last beta and am back to considering Vray again.

When I tried the tutorial using Vray for Rhino 4, my results were different. Makes sense and was expected. I just wanted to clarify.

          Thanks for the link Micha.

          Regards,
          Bill

The computer use WinXP Home SP2; CPU CORE 2 Duo 1,6 GH. I normaly unrar the DRSpawner.rar, so do you know where is the problem?
I'm guessing there may be a missing dll dependency perhaps. I thought I had packaged them all in there. If you download Dependency Walker and then go to File->Open and point it to our drspawner.exe it should tell you if there are any missing dependencies (they will show up in red). Could you run that on your machine and tell me what the result looks like? Feel free to private message me if you need a little help getting Dependency Walker up and running properly.
Note> If try to run program on another computer (WinXP Pro SP2, CPU ATHLON 3500+ 64bit), the program runs, but the render is with white square - but this problem can be do by problems between 32bit and 64bit CPUs, Becose Rhino 4 with VRay runs on CPU Centrino 1,5GH 32bit.
64bit and 32bit cpus won't work together right now with the dr spawner. Its an error in the VRay sdk that I believe should be resolved by our next release.
Hi Joe, thanks for your reply, I tryed to use dependencywalker.exe and it show me that I haven't got these two .dll > DWMAPI.DLL and EFSADU.DLL. You can download the .txt file Depency Walker report created from dependencywalker.exe with all report.
            Thanks, smail

If a Rhino material with a transparency map is set, than this is ignored. It would be nice, if the native Rhino transparency map would be supported, because it is needed for architecture scene with many plants and trees, so that the user must not create Vray materials for each tree.

I forget, best you make, that it works with alpha maps instead transparency maps, so that the viewport show the right transparency effect (so you must internal set "invert" texture map).

The option "snap to grid" of the framebuffer curve control dosn't show any effect like in the previous versions.

Yep - an oldie but a goody. I haven't had time to really start pawing through this one yet - but I'll track it down. Thanks for reminding me.

Good deal - I'll need to add that to the installer.
