    Hi,

Is there a way to assign VRAY materials to individual polysurface faces?

    Thanks

    Hi jvparc,

Applying materials to a polysurface is not yet supported in Rhino currently so we are not able to implement it. However, as a workaround, you can prepare the desired V-Ray materials, select the surfaces by Ctrl+Shift+clicking on them, and then from the Rhino menu > Properties > Materials, select the V-Ray materials you want applied for each face. See attached gif for a better visual explanation: http://ftp.chaosgroup.com/support/sc...8_16-24-05.gif

    Hope that helps!

      Hi,

Thanks for the reply - that's not working for me on Vray 3.6 - I'll just extract surfaces.

      Best,
      J

          Hi jvparc,

Support for face assignments was added in V-Ray Next.
We did not originally have it in V-Ray 3 since it was introduced at a later stage in Rhino.
