what are the settings for creating single surface glass with out weird distorting IOR?

    Re: single surface glass

Look at the making material tutorial, there is a special glass - reflection layer + diffuse layer (color black and opacity at a color you like).

It actually doesn't look like its in that tutorial. Basically, just have a reflection layer with a pretty strong reflection (either by a higher IOR, manipulating the colors within the fresnel map, or just using a solid reflection color) and have a diffuse layer with some blue and some transparency. Leave out the refraction layer. That should get you going. There's probably a material for this in the material downloads section, and we may even ship one with vfr, so check those too if you like.

Found it in the tutorial... its at the bottom of page1.
Weird workaround, but it works. Thanks.

Right, I needed some time to found it.

Damien, best you set diffuse color black. If you set a color than it will act like dust at the glass. Only the transparency color is needed to give a "glass refraction like" tint.
