    Re: New Vray Sketchup

Whats the best way to change the intensity of an environment HDRI? There are so many options now and the multiplier has gone... so I'm a bit lost!
Now we use the outside multiplier

Right, so instead of having to click the M to change the multiplier. You just change the multiplier right there, next to the M. Saves an extra mouse click.

ok, the GI multiplier works, but the background multiplier doesnt seem to change the background intensity if I up it. I'll run more tests later as I'm guessing it needs to be a very high number like earlier versions.

The TexSky (I'm assuming you're using TexSky for the background) that is applied to the background has additional parameters that our old version lacked. Try messing with those options some, I think you'll be fine.

            Re: New Vray Sketchup

I got it working in the end, with a multiplier of around 60.
Another problem I am now having is creating a standard shiny plastic material. In the old version all I would do is create the diffuse colour, add a reflection layer and just adjust the highlight and reflection glossiness and I would have a nice shiny plastic in a few seconds. Now in the new version I cant seem to get this right at all no matter what settings I adjust. I just seem to end up with bad metallic looking colours.
Anyone able to tell me the settings for a basic shiny plastic material I would be very grateful!

By default we had "fresnel" effect enable on the reflection layer (1.05.30 build). Now you have to add the "Fresnel" effect manually. Click on the "m" near reflection and then select "TexFresnel". That's it.

Great work guys! ;D I've played with some of the new features briefly and looks great.

                  The lighting is awesome.
Being able to copy or insert a model into another with the material setting transferring is HUGE!!! This will save soooo much time creating materials.
                  The ambient occlusions is sweet.
Being able to give an emissive layer reflection properties is great!

                  Cheers!

The workflow should be the same as the old workflow. I made some test and seem that something is wrong here.
