    no idea.

Maybe look at some other threads about memory issues and so on. Are you using 32bit or 64bit OS? Maybe there are things to help with memory - also the current SU 8.1 has some better memory limits. When you try to render next, take a look at your computer memory usage and see if it's reaching some limit.

It's been a while since I've run into high-poly issues - mainly because I avoid high-poly sutff wherever I can (using face-me photo-realistic trees, building my own models instead of downloading high-poly ones, etc.) Is there any way to use a different component in your scene?

Re: New version of V-Ray for SketchUp has been released! 1.49.01

      hi again andy.

No, i dont think its because of the OS system coz i tried to render the same scene on the window 7 64bit system, it still having the same issues. Also, i try to render with SU 8, but it doesn't make any different.

      My SU statistics :

      Edges 2,087,774
      Faces 1,201,421
      Component Inst. 757
      Guides 0
      Guide Points 54
      Groups 180
      Images 0
      3D Polylines 0
      Section Planes 0
      Dimensions 0
      Text 0
      Component Def. 131
      Layers 5
      Materials 44
      Styles 1

my SU files are 136MB. I'm using SU 7 + latest build vray.

owhhh!!! i remember something, this is also happen for the exterior scene especially if you have a 3D plants & trees a quite few.

p/s : The realistic factors for the rendered images is the detail. ^___^
so, if i lower the polygon, it means i lowered my realistic...i guess?
      :P

You're running out of ram most likely. There's tons of information about that issue on our forum. It's not something limited to this version, it's always been an issue.

          Hi dkendig

Running of of ram? is it coz SU only support 2GB of ram or something like that? so basically, there is nowhere we can go further with SU?

correct, that is the current limitation with memory, once you run out, you'll get a crash.

As a bit of a novice, even I can see that the new version is very good.

I have one question. Will Micha's famous (and loved by everyone who as used it) grass solution work with this version?

              Cheers....Scotty

                Unfortunately, it's still broken.

                    I found some problem(maybe). Please see on Option>Irradiance Map>Mode
That can choose and work only "Single Frame" tab
others tab such as "Incremental add to current Map" ,"Bucket Mode" and "From File" are disappeared after chosen. (I remember the 1.48.66 still can use.) Unfortunately, it's not appeared and not work too.(I found because,i save the irrmap for use on last render but after i choose "From File" and select irrmap file, that i saved before and render. Some part of rendered picture are black!!) I think that's a problem i found.

Re: New version of V-Ray for SketchUp has been released! 1.49.01

Hi I'm trying to install this new version of VfSU, but I get an error, after the installer detects a previous version. It says:

                      There has been an error.
                      Unknown error while running C:\ (...) \SketchUp8/uninstall.exe
                      The application will exit now.
Then I tried if I could manually uninstall, and I found a shortcut in my SU8 folder, saying 'uninstall V-ray', which linked to the file directly above it (very useful), but upon trying it, it says:
                      (...)\SketchUp 8\uninstall.exe is not a valid Win32 application.
Also, the file uninstall.exe is 0kb, so that might have been a hint for me.
Right. So, how do I get it to work? Can I simply delete the related files from in my SU folder and all will be fine? or do I need to delete all files? Where are all files? Do I need to delete registry keys too?
Or should I get my hands on an un-install file?

Right. This board is not very active. I fixed it on my own though. I just deleted the v-ray files in the SU folder, and the install worked after that.

Hi everyone... I'm a newbie here.

I am currently running V-Ray v1.05 on SU7... is it possible for me to upgrade to the latest version 1.49.01? and does it free?
Another thing... I'm afraid that it would be a problem with my existing file to work with a new version.
                          Hope somebody can help.

                          Thank you in advance.

Yes, upgrading is free, and yes old scenes should work with it. There are some cases where old scenes will have a different output than they did with the 1.05.30 version, but for the most part the old scenes should work.
                              Best regards,
