Vray 1.47.01 is better with sketchup 7 or 8 or same
At the risk of sounding like an idiot, what does the "M2" mean?
I am currently using V-Ray 1.49.01.
SketchUp 8.0.11752
Windows 7 Professional-64 bit
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 K655 @ 3.20GHz

Ok, thanks.
I want to buy a new computer and i use sketchup 8 m2 and Vray 1.49.01, My current configuration is too low to make large scenes, my pc stops rendering when I put too high resolution.
I work in the interior design of the restaurant and I have very big model with lots of chairs and tables, V ray don't like.
Sketchup files are occasionally 50 MB or more.
I think PCU is very important for rendering speed but i want to know if it's necessary to have much RAM (for example 32 G or 16?), because sketchup use 4 g of ram.
I would like your opinion as a user of sketchup + vray and photopshop, what's your configuration?
Is this the same problem with 3ds Max and Vray or Max manages large files better?
Thanks

I have the SU8 Pro Vray 1.49.01 on a i7 6 core (12 threads) machine with 12gb of ram and have no issues rendering interior scenes larger then 80MB.
The i7s are the way to go. Unless you are using crazy displacement, there should be no need for more memory than 4GB for now. I have never had memory issues in the several years I have used VR4SU.
Just stay clear of displacement and ALWAYS render your final hi-res direct to EXR. This saves a ton of memory and will allow you render higher res images. You just need ProEXR for Photoshop ($99) in order to open multichannel EXR files.
Thanks Matthew,
i made a rendering last night ,in PNG,and it crashed.(see attached filed).
yet i have 8 g ram and my model do 24 mb, why my computer stopped rendering?
Tonight, i will test a render in EXR.
