I've read that the 20gb variations are related to Nvidia concerns about new AMD RDNA2 could match 3080s performance though with their massive VRam amount as they tend to put inside their cards.

I think the new generation might be a good reason to invest in strong GPU build without spending almost 2k for the threadripper CPU, at least I am gonna try to push this idea ib my studio

btw BBB3 Bertrand Benoit? Wow, it is an honour to see you here. Huge fan of your work!

RTX 3090 is more than 2 times faster than Titan RTX with ChaosGroup
      V-Ray GPU Bench (370mpaths vs 777mpaths)

Two of these with VLINK seems to be killer. I bet they'll be scalped up and sold for 2X until things normalize.

I'd like to know which case and mobo combination will fit 2 X 3090

When you say SCSI, do you mean the old SCSI interface we used back in the day, or is this something new?

              Don't you mean thunderbolt Bobby?
(although I see they refer to the SATA interface on some of these as UBS-Attached-SCSI)

This guy built himself a hightech eGPU of something that couldn't have cost more than maybe $1 (and he gets 60FPS out of it)

Epic! Someone will copy it with metal and charge $1000 for the case.

Gigabyte and Asus have announced "turbo" editions of the 3090; these are blower variants. I expect EVGA will do one as well. I think it should be fine to get 2x of those going in a decent airflow case like a corsair 450D or even better a 750D Airflow edition.

There's new quadro cards due out with more ram again, they've gone for a different type of memory so they run on a lot less power and cool off better - not sure if they're any better for use than the 3080/90

Unless you need something that a quaddro specifically does, like youre running 8k pano projections or something, Id steer well clear of those.

The 3090 gaming benchmarks are next to useless until they've been corroborated by a Vray benchmark. I'm not interested in 4k gaming performance, I want to know how those buckets move.
