  • Saving current render to history, corrupts/looses the effectsResult

    Hi guys

    Vray #("4.20.90", "29628", "21071ad8")

While rendering with defaults for GPU and after the denoiser did at least 1 pass, saving the image to history while it's rendering corrupts/looses the effectsResult. This does not happen with CPU Advanced
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

This seems to happen only when the denoising pass has not yet fully passed, which is normal.

ok, but as mentioned, with progressive on cpu advanced, I still get the effectsresult, while with GPU progressive, I dont
Would be nice to get what I see in the VFB at the time of saving
      Kind Regards,

For example, this was after 15 minutes, when the denoiser already made several passes, but I saved to history during render. When you reload the image via the history list and go the the effects result, it comes up with this corruption. If you keep reloading same image, or even any other image that was saved in same way, then the lines become worse and worse till eventually the VFB is almost completely white. You have to switch to any other render element, and back to the efects channel, to view the original corruption. Click image for larger version Name:	corruption.JPG Views:	1 Size:	289.2 KB ID:	1052043

I can click "update" in the denoiser element, to recover it (well not really recover, as it does a full new denoise)

Again, this corruption DOES NOT occur when saving while rendering with progressive advanced CPU

As a workaround, I'm now 1st cancelling the render, then updating the denoiser, then only saving to history
          Kind Regards,

Actually, I get the corruption even if I leave the render to finish on GPU. The saved history vrimg file's effectsResult is ALWAYS corrupt as above

            Morne

Can't seem to break to effectsResult channel in the described manner. Does this happen on a specific scene or on a specific workstation? If it is scene-specific, could you send the file to support@chaosgroup.com so we can take a look?
