Just wanted to add that I use the same setup as Steve and Devin as this was my understanding of LWF. The "dont affect colors" and sRGB version means you can't use color mapping - that all has to be done in post, which is thoroughly unintuitive to me which is why I went the other way.

Lwf Settings and Results
My results of VrayRt linear work flow.
Max Gamma:
Gamma = 2.2
Input Gamma = 2.2
Output Gamma = 2.2
Vray Colour Mapping:
Linear
Gamma = 2.2
Don't affect Colors (Adaptation only) = ON
VFB:
SRG = ON
See settings and results on attached images.
Conclusion: Hue is a little off. This could be due to the fact that final image uses Brute Force aswell as LC. Pretty close, but would like to see a solution with out using RGB switch in VFB.

The problem is, Output Gamma set to 2.2 and Affect Adaptation On is no longer Linear Workflow - as far as I know. Hence, the output isn't as accurate.

just put Output Gamma back to 1,0 and apply and Inverse Gamma 2.2 Curve on top of layer stack; LWF is back!Alessandro

ive foiund out that the best setup for LWF with vrayRT is this
Max Gamma/LUT with classical LWF settingg
Color mapping - Reinhard @ 1.0/burn of your choice/ gamma @ 0,454
just remember to set the gamma back to 1.0 for production render
this is by far the most precise methot ive tried

As far as i know (and without using linear workflow in colormaping)
there is only one way how to setup gamma/LUT in maxes preferences
and that is
overall gamma at 2.2
everything else checked
I/O at 2.2/1.0Martin

RT is slowly driving me insane! I'm not sure what's going on here but maybe someone can help?
We use LWF here (as far as we know!) GC on, affect colours & mat's, I/O 2.2/1.0.
From what I'm used to in LWF and what's been said already in this thread, the max RFW should match the gamma of the RT Active Shade window, but I'm getting an extra gamma correction in the RT Active Shade window compared to the max RFW & the VFB. Like this:
I've attached the file if it's any use.
Any ideas/suggestions really appreciated, I'm pulling my hair out!
Cheers,

It looks like the same problem I've been having, so far nothing I've tried seems to fix the problem. I know some people say they've had success and that there Vray RT and VFB match in LWF but so far I haven't been able to get it to work. Vlado has already said this is a bug and that it should be fixed in the next release.
