As much as all freelancer here, I am disappointing by the complete lack of vrayscan update. Some material heavily used in industry like brushed metal, requested since several months are missing and using a vraybumpmat to add a brushed look terribly fake.
Can you please provide us with release date. Thanks

We didn't announce a thing, strangely enough, but did you guys notice the over 200 materials from Japanese clients?
There are some of the most amazing cloths in there.

as for "brushed metal": it's a category of finishes, *times* a category of materials.
In other words, the number of possible permutations between the type of brushing and the material to be brushed is night infinite.
Did you guys put in a specific request?

They are really nice, but I hoped More scans are getting added regularly. No need to scan every possible brushed metal.. But right now there is like 4 or 5 scans only

Wow, they were up 11 months ago? I realised two weeks past, go figure.

Metals: there's an aluminium, a gold and 2 steel ones. With colorisation you ought to be able to cover most brushed metals, provided the brushing pattern is fine.
Which is why i asked if you put in a request: if the pattern ain't fine, then there's not going to be any coloring saving you.

As i know a new update is currently being prepared, just to introduce some clarification - the library contains mostly materials of customers who allowed to use their materials. Surprisingly for me, the fabrics are big part of the payed scans, but i understand that the library users and the scan service users have apparently different interests, so we will try to add some general purpose materials bying samples from the stores around

I offered to send samples multiple times now, no one ever reacted. I wrote mails to Gary two times in the last two weeks, I didn't even get a reply. I feel since Dinko is gone, no one feels responsible for VrScans anymore. Which is a shame!
The last big update was in January or February. Other libraries like Quixel MegaScans for example manage to update the library once a week.

New fabrics are always welcome. Looking forward to the update you mentioned.
Maybe every 6-8 months or so if we get like 200 new scans, it would be very nice. More fabrics, leather and wood would be nice. And maybe metals and plastic
I hoped that this year VRscans library has around 1k scans or so..
An expanding library as advertised when VRscans launched last year will bring more and more users.

Could anybody from Chaosgroup staff please tell me who is in charge of the VrScans now? It can not be Dinko, because he is gone. And Gavril doesn't anser my mails. Who is handling this?

Hi Oliver, i will ask Gary about your mails, normaly he is the one who is in contact with the customers, it's quite possible that your mails were not seen (anti spam filters or something like that)
