Still renders black, and the xreff message is still here. Look, is it possible to reproduce it from scratch? If this happen only in this scene, ok, then it's kind of bug or something specific. But you said that in VRayMtl the situation was the same, and some fix was provided. So, it must be fundamental issue, and should be possible to recreate it from scratch. I tried without success, but may be you can reproduce it using the important points in your scene.

      Ivaylo,
please find attached a very simple file. Simply relink the provided bump map, and put in the basemtl slot a ScannedMtl with material "fabric_grey_s.vrscan" from the library. The terminator appears. Set bump amount to 0 and it disappears.

Sorry it took so long, I have no idea what was going on in the original file.

Left image without bump map, right with bump map.

Well, it is still present. So, what can be done to avoid this?

the chance for 4.x updates is not big, so give me your max version and i will provide you a fixed plugin

Ivaylo, can you please check the issue is not present in the upcoming release of V-Ray 5 SP1?
If you need a stripped down scene again to test, please tell me.

With your old scene (the teapot) it's not present, but is really present in 4.3 , so we can assume it's the same bug
