Hey, I do not know if this has been posted before since it’s easy to detect. Did searched a bit on older threads but got not entry on this…
In Archicad WE use on a daily basis the 3d cut planes to make 3d sections and render them with Enscape. Either with 3d cut planes that you can turn on and off, you can also use a rectangle marquee on the floor plan to achieve a similar customized section.
But… Enscape objects are not cut and they will be seen as one item not being able to get a cut out part. This becomes weird because they not only cover other things but also cat shadows that are not desirable for these sections. If you look at the attached image you will see this in red these issues and in blue archicad objects that work as desired…
Thanks, cheers!
heers!
Am I the only one with this cutting issue? Is there a workaround method?
thanks
Yes, it works this way. It should be solved as fast as possible!
So just to be clear, now with the Cosmos asset library WE still have this issue of Archicad’s 3d cutting plan not cutting them. Is Enscape aiming for a solution for this? Otherwise converting these assets to morphs, polys will be poor as they are dependable of textures. If someone as a workaround solution please share…
Until now I only got one solution, delete the assets ou hide them if there is a cutting plan passing through it.
Cheer, thanks
The lack of an answer for the past 1.5 years is your answer.
@joo_mouro Indeed this is known behavior. The issue is with how the section cuts are sent to Enscape by Archicad. Currently there is no quick fix for this issue. However I have mentioned to our developers that it is an ongoing frustration, and they will examine if there is anything we can do to improve the behavior in a future release of Enscape.
Thank you @Helen_Reinold_1 for BIM users, this is indeed a daily need…
Cheers
