-Enable view panning/zooming/rotating when cutting polygons and creating objects
It took them how many versions to get this in place??? Looks good otherwise too - have to wait and see.
aargh.. anyone else noticed the “maya navigation style”? its the beginning of the EEEEENNNNNDDDDDDDDDDD!
I dont mind maya I kinda like it as long as I get the alt+r option with sphere to control too ! ![]()

ActiveShade Interactive iray Rendering… vray RT will have some competition!!
Enhanced Interoperability with Adobe Photoshop:
Sounds like they purchased PSD Manager.
They didnt purchase PSD manager it is their own tool which isnt as good or as feature packed as PSD manager
Exact same wording then the 3ds Max 2012 Subscription Advantage Pack announcement had.
No. So the right mouse click Copy&Paste options for materials and color swatches is still the only code from me in 3ds max.
Right, not anything like it. I posted a “comparison” a few days ago.
I wish they would improve the PSD import in 3ds max.

the most important question… DID THEY FIX UI LAG ?!
At finally, renderer name is changed to “NVIDIA mentalray”, “NVIDIA iray”. haha. what the…
indeed ![]()
also very curious about the DirectConnect Support, native translators now? wonder how stable those are
Iray RT is already in max 2012…
As to UI lag, there are some improvements as far as I can see…
The new import options look exactly like power translaters.
PhysX is renamed to mass Fx.
Rendering tech by Nvidia.
I get the impression they continue the trend of buying external plugins and put their own R&D money elsewhere.
I wonder if they ever made an offer for v-ray?
Do you want me to have nightmares ?? I have MODO as a backup when that sh*t happens ![]()
ok so when can we get a VRay build for 2013?
It will take us some time to prepare the official update (we have to wait for the final official 3ds Max SDK just in case), but once 3ds Max 2013 is officially released we will add builds for 3ds Max 2013 to the nightly builds and we could also get them to you upon request.
Best regards,
Vlado
One thing Autodesk stressed, in their release event yesterday, was the rendering cloud. They are planning on expanding the rendering cloud to other application, like 3DS MAX. If they offer a free render farm, with the Mental Ray and iRay engine, it’ll be a game changer.
Where can we get the nightly builds in general? Is it a thing only for beta testers? Or do we every day just re-download from the official product page on chaosgroup?
