3ds Max 2013 announced

They are available upon request; you can email us to vray@chaosgroup.com for more information.

Best regards,
Vlado

Free render cloud is somthing I think wont really happen… The workload that they would get would be insane !

The money they make is insane! The render farm is already available for Revit, which is part of the subscription.[quote=“RobPhoboS, post:13, topic:37803, username:RobPhoboS”]

I’m still waiting for my Grant Warwick edition of Max 2012.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdxwWKBy4gU

You can say that again. I didn’t once experience it to be as quick as in his video

There is a direct import of Revit files where one can choose which view to import, that isn’t the same that was in the advantage pack, is it?

the camera of the view is what is imported into MAX[quote=“seq, post:9, topic:37832, username:seq”]

You don´t seriously believe Autodesk rents like 10k Machines and gives them away for free ?
It´s free until you like it
Also it´s not an option if you have to render classified stuff like prototypes or something as you have no longer control about your data.
The Server Autodesk uses are from Amazon and located within the USA wich also means the patriot act applies. So practically unlikely, but
theoreticaly possible the US authorities have full access to your data, wich is an absolutely no go for sensitive data. Next to that
you have no access to plugins and noone really you can talk to in case something goes wrong. The whole cloud bullshit is nothing but a huge
marketing bubble to earn more money in the long term, obviously.

I did. Going from 11 to 12 was unbelievable. A job I was on which I had to split the facade alone into 6 scenes (ground floor/first etc) and xref together just so I could pan around it now lives in one scene, with no lag kicking around 14mil polys. It’s amazing and the best update max has ever had.

yeah viewport speed raised but UI lag killed the happiness :frowning:

What kind of lag? I’ve luckily not experienced any.

in 2011 we used to get lag where if you select a new object and try to pan/zoom there was a slight delay - running smoothly until a new selection, but thats gone in 2012.

I think the amount of new issues that arose from nitrous (and using vray in combination) probably made the usefulness of nitrous almost nil. shame really :frowning:

V-Ray 1.5 for 3ds Max 2013 will be available too ? I hope so.

agree

can’t chaosgroup somehow cheat it with mentalray stuff like they did with hair and fur?

…but it wasn’t interactive.

Yeah exactly right.

Hello,
has there been any info on a release date, and once again, how long until chaosgroup updates vray ?
Thanks

We have our internal builds ready; the goal is to release updates within a month of the official 3ds Max 2013 release.

Best regards,
Vlado

Release date of 3smx 2013? It’s May 12 I heard.

I already have Navisworks, Autocad, Revit, Quantity Takeoff, Design Review… I wonder what is taking 3DS MAX so much longer?
